United in for Delph

Manchester United are eyeing a move for Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph, according to the Express.

The former Leeds United man only signed a new deal at Villa Park back in January, but Louis van Gaal is ready to make a bid as he looks to bring in a new centre midfielder ahead of next season.

Delph has made twenty appearances in all competitions for the Midlands club so far this campaign, with his one and only goal coming in last month’s FA Cup quarter final victory over West Bromwich Albion.

His form has also been noted by England manager Roy Hodgson, who handed him international debut back for a friendly against Norway back in September, while he has been capped a further four times since.

The 25 year old played in Villa’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester United at the weekend, a result which has left them just one place and two points above the bottom three in the Premier League, and they will slip into the relegation zone if they lose to Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday evening.
