United in for Paqueta

Manchester United are interested in signing Brazilian sensation Lucas Paqueta, according to Le10Sport.

Paqueta is a product of Flamengo’s academy, and since his professional career began he has accumulated 80 appearances in all competitions and scored 14 goals for the club. His excellent performances have earned him a lot of attention from top European clubs such as Barcelona, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. The French champions were considered favorites for his signature for a while as they had opened negotiations about a potential deal with Flamengo, but Le10Sport claim they face stiff competition in the form of 20-times English champions from Manchester, who have now done the same.

Paqueta’s buyout clause is set at €50million, but PSG were close to concluding a deal for €40million before United’s involvement. Now, a bidding war between the two clubs seems to be on the horizon, while AC Milan and Barcelona remain interested and monitor the situation from the back seat.
