United in new bid for Marchisio
Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Manchester United are readying a fresh assault on Juventus star Claudio Marchisio.
New Red Devils boss David Moyes is desperate to sign a high-profile midfielder this summer, but he has so far had no success in his quest.
Manchester United were keen on signing Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, but following several unsuccessful attempts to lure the Spaniard to Old Trafford, they seem ready to explore other options.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Red Devils are pondering a move for long-term target Claudio Marchisio.
With United reportedly ready to go up to €30 million for the Italy international, Juventus chiefs may have no choice but to consider the offer for the highly rated midfielder.
And while Claudio Marchisio is regarded as an important member of the side, he is not among players who wouldn’t be allowed to leave if a right offer comes along.
Sunderland want Inter midfielder
Sunderland are exploring the possibility of signing Serbian midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic from Inter Milan, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Black Cats produced quite a coup by luring Italy international Emanuele Giaccherini from Juventus, while also adding Jozy Altidore, Modibo Diakite and Cabral, among other players.
Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio, nonetheless, is eager to add few more quality players to the side and is reportedly set to make a move on Inter midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic.
West Ham have also been showing interest in the player who are likely to be available for sale this summer, but their Premier League rivals seem to have moved to the front of the queue.
Kuzmanovic, 25, only joined Inter from Stuttgart in January 2013, but he has utterly failed to prove his worth at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
With Inter officials looking to raise some money to sign a quality central midfielder, everything suggests they will jump at the opportunity to cash in on the Serbia international.
Diego Alves on Benfica radar
Benfica are interested in signing Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Alves from Valencia, according to Record.
After narrowly missing out on three major titles last term, the Eagles have been very busy in the summer transfer window, signing more than ten new players.
The summer recruitment does not seem to be over just yet as the Estadio da Luz outfit are also searching for a new goalkeeper.
Benfica officials want to sign another player who would challenge Artur Moraes for the starting berth and they seem to have set their sights on Valencia’s Diego Alves.
The 28-year-old has impressed every time he was called upon at Mestalla, following a switch from Almeria, but he never quite managed to nail down a regular starting berth.
Having lost patience with the rotation policy that also applies to keepers at Mestalla, Alves is looking to leave los Che and he could be interested in a switch to Benfica.
