United keeping tabs on Sporting starlets
Portuguese daily Record has learned that Manchester United are keeping an eye on Sporting Lisbon youngster Armindo Bruma.
According to the same source, the Red Devils have watched the winger in the weekend’s defeat to Pacos Ferreira.
Sir Alex Ferguson is well aware of the talent coming through the youth ranks at Sporting and he continues to monitor club’s youth academy.
The Scottish manager is keeping close tabs on Armindo Bruma, but is also believed to be interested in Eric Dier.
The English defender has been impressing at Estadio Jose Alvalade and has been heavily tipped to return to English Premier League.
The 19-year-old has made 14 Primeira Liga appearances this season and has scored one goal. Meanwhile, his teammate Bruma has scored one goal in eleven league matches this season.
Hamburg confirm Son set to leave
Hamburger SV are ready to cash in on star forward Heung-Min Son, according to sporting director Frank Arnesen.
The South Korean player has become one of the hottest commodities in German Bundesliga, with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham rumoured to be keen.
His current employers are doing everything in their power to keep hold of their prized asset, but it appears summer exit is a reality.
Hamburger SV sporting director Frank Arnesen has admitted they will be forced to sell Son unless he signs an extension to his current deal that is set to expire in June 2014.
“If he does not extend, we need to sell him,” Arnesen told reporters after the weekend’s 1-1 draw against Wolfsburg.
The 20-year-old, who has scored 11 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches this season, appears to have set his sights on leaving the club.
Benfica close in on Stefan Mitrovic
Belgian newspaper Het Laaste Nieuws understands that Benfica are on the verge of signing Kortrijk defender Stefan Mitrovic.
The Europa League finalists could stay without both Ezequiel Garay and Jardel in the summer, meaning that signing a new central defender is a priority.
Het Laaste Nieuws reports that Benfica scouts had the Serbian defender watched at the weekend and that they are putting finishing touches on the deal taking Mitrovic to Estadio da Luz.
The 22-year-old should have no problems adapting to the new surroundings, with Nemanja Matic already there and Filip Djuricic and Miralem Sulejmani set to arrive in the summer.
Mitrovic only joined Kortrijk from Serbian second division side Metalac in the summer, but he has largely impressed this season.
The centre-back clocked up 22 league appearances for the club and managed to score no less than 3 goals in the process.
