Manchester United are ready to make a £50m bid for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria, according to the Daily Star.
The Red Devils, who began life under Louis van Gaal with a shock 2-1 defeat to Swansea City at the weekend, have brought in just two first team players this summer with Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera the only new arrivals.
Di Maria has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, and was an unused substitute in Real’s 2-0 win over Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup final at Cardiff City Stadium last week.
His last appearance for the club was his man of the match performance in the Champions League final victory over rivals Atletico Madrid back in May.
United have also put together a package worth around £200,000 per week over five years for the 26 year old, who spent three years with Benfica prior to his move to the Bernabeu.
