United not giving up on Lewandowski
English newspaper The Sun understands that Manchester United are closely following Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.
The Polish forward is one of the most sought-after players in Europe and he has long ago attracted attention of Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Red Devils attempted to sign the player in the summer, but eventually opted for Robin van Persie.
Nevertheless, Sir Alex Ferguson is still interested in bringing the player to Old Trafford and has sent scouts to watch him when he plays at Etihad Stadium in the Champions League clash against Manchester City.
The 24-year-old was in impressive form last season, scoring 22 goals in 34 Bundesliga appearances for the Millionaires.
However, he has yet to find his scoring boots this term, having netted just once in 5 Bundesliga fixtures.
City make a check on Jovetic
Manchester City have reignited their interest in Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic, according to Daily Mail.
The Premier League champions have been following the Montenegrin striker for a while now, but they have yet to make an official bid for his services.
That looks likely to change with City chief Patrick Vieira flying to Italy to watch Jovetic in action in the 2-1 defeat to Inter.
Fiorentina somehow managed to keep hold of their prized asset in the summer in spite of the heavy interest from Juventus and a number of English clubs, but club’s technical director Eduardo Macia recently confessed that the player would eventually leave Artemio Franchi.
Jovetic has been in fine form this season, scoring 4 goals in 6 Serie A appearances, but he has failed to get on the scoresheet in Viola’s last three league games.
In total, the Montenegro international has scored 26 goals in 91 Serie A matches for the Artemio Franchi outfit.
Milan keeping tabs on Basel star
Italian Radio Kiss Kiss has revealed that Milan have set their sights on FC Basel midfielder Marcelo Diaz.
The Rossoneri have had a really disappointing start to the season and are desperate to reinforce the squad in January.
Radio Kiss Kiss reports that the San Siro outfit are showing interest in FC Basel player Marcelo Diaz.
Milan officials plan to scout the player this season and possibly make an official bid next summer, but they could even make an offer in January in order to beat competition from Bayern Munich.
The 25-year-old midfielder only joined Basel at the start of the summer transfer window, but has quickly developed into a key member of the side.
Since making his €3 million move from Universidad de Chile, Diaz has made nine league appearances for the Swiss giants.
