Manchester United target Kevin Strootman has said he will not be leaving PSV Eindhoven in the January transfer window, the Metro is reporting.
Strootman has been on Sir Alex Ferguson’s radar for a while now, but it seems as though he wants to spend the whole season with the Dutch giants, but has hinted at a move to the Red Devils in the summer window.
The 22-year-old is highly-rated by a number of big European clubs and it is thought that Ferguson believes he is a similar kind of player to Roy Keane, and wants to add some much needed bite and determination to his midfield.
It seems as though the English Premier League club will have to wait until next season to try and bring Strootman to the club though as the players agent does not think he is ready for such a big move just yet.
This could stall the deal though as the United boss is keen to add to his squad in January due to his vast amount of injury problems, so the summer could prove to be too late.
Never say never in this business though – Strootman may still be heading to the Premier League in the New Year.
