United told to pay up for Lallana

Daily Mirror understands that Southampton are holding out for a substantial offer if they are to allow skipper Adam Lallana to leave in the summer.

Manchester United are believed to be hot on the trail of the England international as they are in desperate need for midfield reinforcements.

The Red Devils boss David Moyes, assistant Steve Round and first team coach Phil Neville watched the 25-year-old in action as the Saints shared spoils with Aston Villa at the weekend.

And with Lallana’s former club Bournemouth due 25 per cent of future transfer fee, Southampton have informed their league rivals they will have to delve deep into their pockets if they are to sign the highly rated footballer.

Manchester United will host Norwich next weekend in an attempt to make amends for the 2-0 defeat to Everton and the Red Devils have been made 1/3 favourites to claim maximum points at Old Trafford.
