Manchester United left back Patrice Evra has pulled out of Tuesday's Champions League home match against Celtic with a hamstring stain, the Premiership club said on Monday.
Frenchman Evra left the pitch holding his left leg in United's 4-0 Premiership victory over West Brom at the weekend. He had light training on Monday but United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said he was not prepared to risk him.
“It's too big a risk with a hamstring injury,” Ferguson said at his pre-match press briefing. “He should be OK for Saturday (against Everton).”
John O-Shea, who replaced Evra against West Brom, is likely once more to take his place against Celtic.
