United’s Bebe on Benfica radar

Benfica are keeping close tabs on Manchester United striker Bebe, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo has learned.

The Eagles are on the lookout for a new centre forward as Oscar Cardozo is widely tipped to leave and boss Jorge Jesus seems to be considering a move for the Red Devils starlet.

The 23-year-old is likely to be offloaded this summer as he has another year left on his contract with his agent Jorge Mendes a personal friend of Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira.

Bebe joined Manchester United in a shock switch from Vitoria Guimaraes in the summer of 2010, but has since made just two Premier League appearances for the Red Devils.

Following unsuccessful loan spells with Besiktas and Rio Ave, the talented forward managed to impress at Pacos de Ferreira last term, scoring 11 goals in 27 league outings.

He has clearly done enough to catch the eye of Benfica boss Jorge Jesus, who plans to lure him to Estadio da Luz this summer.
