Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that full-back Fabio da Silva will spend next season on loan in order to gain some first team experience.
The Brazilian defender has largely struggled to get some first team action at Old Trafford and he only featured in five Premier League games this season.
With Fabrice Evra still an automatic choice for the left-back position, the Brazilian may need to search for first team football elsewhere.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has now confirmed that the player will be farmed out on loan at the start of next season.
“Fabio will go on loan next season to give him concentrated first-team experience,” Ferguson told United Review.
“I have already talked to him and he understands the value of playing regularly at a higher level than we can give him at the moment.”
Fabio Da Silva joined Manchester United in February 2007 from Fluminense, together with his twin brother Rafael, but he was unable to play for the club until he turned 18 in July 2008.
The Brazilian defender has since amassed just 22 Premier League appearances for the club, although he featured regularly in domestic cups and European competitions.
