(GSM) – Universidad de Chile advanced to the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals on Thursday night after a 2-2 draw with Alianza Lima secured an aggregate victory.

Holding the edge from a 1-0 win in Peru last week, Universidad came out weakly and conceded the lead in the 24th minute as José Fernández scored the opener for Alianza.

They held that lead until the 63rd minute when Eduardo Vargas leveled the match and the tie for Universidad, though Fernández looked to have grabbed the winner for Alianza three minutes from time.

But Felipe Seymour scored in the second minute of stoppage time to give the Chileans the point they needed to secure passage into the last eight.

They will face Brazilian side Flamengo in the quarterfinals.
