Copa del Rey winners Valencia CF will no be sacking manager Ronald Koeman, despite recent rumours fed by Spanish media.
In an official statement published on Valencia’s official site this evening, the club makes the following declaration:
“Valencia CF would like to state that despite the different rumours that appeared in the last days, its first team manager is Ronald Koeman, who has a contract for this season and two more, and that in no occasion we considered hiring another coach, let alone already having one under contract or being in negotiations with any other.”
The statement comes a day after Valencia’s 3-1 victory over Getafe CF in the final of the Spanish Copa del Rey.
Earlier today, Koeman said that there is no time for celebration right now. “There is still work to do,” the manager referred to Valencia’s 15th place in the Primera Division.
