Urby Emanuelson set for Fulham loan

Fulham are closing in on AC Milan midfielder Urby Emanuelson, BBC Sport has revealed.

Emanuelson, 26, is currently undergoing a medical at Craven Cottage ahead of his move from AC Milan.

The Netherlands international is set to join the Cottagers on loan until the end of the season, with no purchase option included in the deal.

In spite of some very good showings this season, the versatile midfielder has struggled to command a regular starting berth at San Siro and recently expressed his desire to leave the club in search of first team football.

Fulham boss Martin Jol, who had coached Emanuelson at Ajax, jumped at the opportunity to sign the highly regarded player, who is expected to help the Cottagers return to the right track following a slow start to the season.

Urby Emanuelson can operate across a number of positions in midfield, even if he began his professional career as a left-sided defender.
