Uruguayan striker Javier Chevanton has left Spanish giants Sevilla and re-signed with Italian outfit Lecce. The 30 year old, who joined Sevilla for a reported €8M from AS Monaco, terminated his contract with the Andalusians. He has signed a one year contract with Lecce, with an option for another year.
Chevanton started his career with Danubio in his native Uruguay and was with them till 2001 when he joined Lecce. He had a phenomenal goal scoring record at Lecce and became a favourite with fans of the Salentini. Chevanton left the club in 2004 to join Monaco. Two years later he parted company with the Principality side and joined Sevilla.
