River Plate of Montevideo have one leg in the quarter finals of the Copa Sudamericana following a convincing 4-1 win over Brazilian side Vitoria.
Argentinian Jorge Cordoba was of great influence to the hosts, scoring in the 8th and 49th minute to give River Plate a 2-0 lead over their Brazilian guests.
Wallace then got one back in minute 65 but River Plate, not to be confused with its Argentinian namesake, restored the gap through Andrezinho with ten minutes to go.
Jorge Rodriguez added a fourth goal three minutes later, making it very likely that the Uruguayans are to feature in the quarter final stage of this tournament.
River Plate are the only Uruguayan side left in the tournament, while Vitoria are one of five Brazilian teams to have made it this far.
