United States captain Carlos Bocanegra will play for Saint-Etienne next season after his current club Rennes announced on Friday that they have agreed a deal to sell him.
The former Fulham defender, who can play at centre-back or left-back, will join up with his new team-mates after returning from holiday.
The 31-year-old played in all four of his country’s games at the World Cup in South Africa, where the US went down to Ghana in the last 16.
The value of the transfer was not revealed but is estimated to be in the region of 500,000 euros.
