(GSM) – Colorado Rapids are through to the Major League Soccer Conference finals following a penalty win over Columbus Crew.
The Rapids had won the opening leg 1-0 at home, but Columbus needed just 22 minutes in the second leg for Eddie Gaven to level the aggregate score.
Robbie Rogers then made it 2-0 in the 70th minute and it looked like the Crew were on their way to the conference final.
But the Rapids would not give up and Conor Casey found the target for 2-1 with just six minutes to go.
In the following penalty shoot-out, Colorado scored five while the Crew netted only four.
