Celtic manager Neil Lennon is reportedly keeping close tabs on AZ Akmaar forward Aron Johannsson, according to Voetbal International.
The Bhoys are searching for attacking reinforcements after cashing in on Gary Hooper, and they have been linked with moves for Eredivisie starlets Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and Alfred Finnbogason.
Voetbal International has now suggested that Neil Lennon is looking at another player who has Icelandic roots.
Namely, the talented manager has been impressed by AZ Alkmaar forward Aron Johannsson, and could decide to make a move on the player in the near future.
After playing for Iceland Under-21 side, Johannsson has switched his allegiance to United States and has even made a substitute appearancs for USA in the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica.
He has largely impressed since joining AZ Alkmaar from AGF, notching 7 goals in 12 Eredivisie appearances. His excellent display did not go unnoticed and it won’t be long before the youngster leave his current employers for greener pastures.
