Bayern Munich striker Takashi Usami will spend next season at Hoffenheim, according to a report in Germany’s Bild.
The 20-year-old failed to win a regular first-team spot at Bayern, making five appearances in all competitions and scoring no goals.
Usami wants to stay in Europe rather than return to hometown club Gamba Osaka, who declined to exercise a 1.5 million euros buyout in the player’s loan contract.
This northern winter he was the subject of interest from Nurnberg, and had told reporters that the move was likely.
But the change in destination could be a result of that club’s reported agreement with Japan international Hiroshi Kiyotake.
Usami is not expected to feature in the Champions League final between Bayern and Chelsea on Saturday.
