Gamba Osaka loanee Takashi Usami has expressed his desire to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
Speaking to TZ, the Japanese attacker revealed that the Bavarians are interested in extending his loan stay, but admitted that his preference would be to find another club.
“Bayern have expressed interest in borrowing me for an extra year,” he said.
“I’m not sure if it will work out this way.”
“If I’m honest, I would rather not stay. If there is a team where I can play more and take on a greater role, then I’d rather go there.”
Usami moved to Munich last season on a one-year loan with option to buy for approximately two million euros.
Since his arrival, he has struggled to make an impression at the Sabener Strasse, racking up just 50 minutes on the pitch from three appearances.
“I cannot say if there are other offers. But if there is a good opportunity, I’ll think about it,” he said.
The 19-year-old Usami has, however, been a regular feature in Bayern’s reserve team in the Regionalliga Sud (fourth tier). In 14 matches, he has scored six goals and provided two assists.
