Marseille midfielder Mathieu Valbuena has suggested that he could leave the club at the end of the current campaign.
The 29-year-old has spent last seven and a half years at Stade Velodrome having joined from Libourne, but his long relationship with the French giants seems to be coming to an end.
Valbuena has revealed that he plans to finish the season with Marseille, but he is likely to leave OM after the 2014 World Cup.
“My goal is to make a great second half of the season at the club and make a great World Cup,” the midfielder told French news channel BFM TV.
“It’s been eight years since I have arrived at OM. It’s been no secret that the experience abroad has been tempting to me. We’ll see…”
Mathieu Valbuena is set to miss next few weeks of action with a dislocated shoulder, and he is expected to sit out the games against Bordeaux, Reims and Evian.
The long-serving footballer has made a total of 224 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille, scoring 25 goals in the process.
He has a long list of suitors among Europe’s top clubs and is finally expected to realise his dream move at the end of the current season.
