France Football is reporting that Marseille star Mathieu Valbuena is almost certain to leave Stade Velodrome this summer.
Having spent last eight years with OM, the experienced midfielder has decided to look for a new challenge and it is highly unlikely the club chiefs will stand in his way.
And while a number of clubs were interested in his services even before the World Cup started, two strong performances for France in Brazil have seen his stock rise a great deal.
According to France Football, the likes of Valencia, Fiorentina and Napoli are among clubs showing interest in the player who has another three years left on his deal at Stade Velodrome.
Marseille hope to receive around €8 million for their prized asset, but they might have to settle for €5 million as there won’t be too many clubs willing to match his high salary.
Valbuena, 29, has played a key role in helping France win their first two matches at the 2014 World Cup, having scored and assisted in the 5-2 triumph over Switzerland.
