Marseille star Mathieu Valbuena has added fuel to speculation linking him with a summer move to Spanish La Liga.
The player’s representative earlier confirmed they were in talks with Sevilla and Valencia, and while other European sides are also showing interest, it appears La Liga will be his next destination.
Marseille officials will not stand in the midfielder’s way as he looks to leave Stade Velodrome for greener pastures, and Valbuena has now confirmed a switch to La Liga would appeal to him.
“Spain is an attractive league that I love. We’ll see what happens. Anything is on,” the France international told Telefoot.
After spending last eight years at Marseille, the 29-year-old has decided to leave the club for a new challenge and he looks highly unlikely to remain in France.
Following some scintillating performances for Les Bleus at the 2014 World Cup, Valbuena has seen his stock rise a great deal, and, bar any surprises, he looks set to join a top European club.
