French newspaper L’Equipe has learned that Monaco are on the verge of signing Spanish goalkeeper Victor Valdes from Barcelona.
The Spain international had reportedly agreed on a pre-contract deal with the Principality club long time ago, but he was having second thoughts about moving to France.
Nevertheless, it appears he has made a decision on his future as he is ready to accept the offer from the French giants.
According to L’Equipe, the transfer will be made official in the coming weeks, once the player completes his medical.
Victor Valdes underwent a knee surgery on 31st March and will be out of action until October, but his injury didn’t seem to have any effect on the said arrangement.
Ligue 1 giants Monaco will play host to Guingamp next Wednesday in an attempt to keep the slim title hopes alive, with Claudio Ranieri’s charges available at 4/9 to claim maximum points.
