Victor Valdes is set to be sold by Manchester United after refusing to play for their reserves, according to the Telegraph.
The 33 year old moved to Old Trafford on an eighteen month contract back in January but has played just two competitive games for the club largely down to the form of fellow Spain international David De Gea.
Valdes has now been omitted from United’s pre-season tour, despite the ongoing uncertainty around the future of De Gea, who has been strongly linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Manager Louis van Gaal has now confirmed that the former Barcelona man will be moved on, leaving the club in a potential goalkeeping crisis.
Anders Lindergaard and Sam Johnstone are also part of United’s squad, though the former has played three times over the past two seasons and the latter is yet to make his competitive debut for the club.
