The Mail Online understands that former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes trained with Manchester United on Friday, ahead of a surprise move to Old Trafford.
The 32 year old has been without a club since leaving the Nou Camp in the summer, and had been linked with moves to both Arsenal and Liverpool.
However, he is now in talks over a deal with United manager Louis van Gaal, who handed him his debut with the Catalan club in the 2002/03 campaign.
Valdes made five hundred and thirty-five appearances for Barca, winning multiple honours including six league titles and two Copa del Reys as well as the Champions League on three occasions.
Internationally, he was part of the squads that won the 2010 World Cup and 2012 European Championships, though he has just twenty caps, with him currently competing with Iker Casillas and Manchester United’s David De Gea for the number one spot.
