Valdifiori happy with Napoli link

Empoli midfielder Mirko Valdifiori admits that he is happy to be linked with a move to Serie A side Napoli.

Napoli sporting director Pierpaolo Marino watched the promising midfielder in action last Saturday at Empoli’s 1-0 away win over Frosinone.

“I didn’t know that Marino came to watch me – I’m honoured,” Valdifiori said on Radio Marte.

“I’m very pleased that someone of his standing would come to see me play and to wear the Napoli shirt would be a dream come true.

“This year they are playing really entertaining football and it would be great to be a part of it.

“I’m a classic central midfielder and I enjoy playing in front of the defence – maybe that’s a position they need cover in.”
