Valencia have submitted an official proposal for Santos youngster Neilton, Cruzeiro sporting director Alexandre Mattos has revealed.
Cruzeiro were hoping to lure the talented forward to Estadio Governador Magalhaes Pinto, but they seem to have puled out of the race.
Sporting director Alexandre Mattos has stated that Valencia are one of the clubs vying for Neilton’s signature.
“I have learned that an offer from Valencia arrived for him,” Mattos confessed to Radio Itatiaia.
The 20-year-old has already informed club chiefs he will be leaving when his current deal expires in May and everything suggests he will be moving to Europe.
It remains to be seen whether Valencia will manage to win the chase for his signature, with los Che in desperate need of attacking reinforcements.
Neilton arrived at Santos at the age of 14 and he was handed his first team debut in March 2013. The attacker has since shown a great deal of potential, scoring 4 goals in 16 league appearances for the Brazilian giants.
