Valencia challenge Monaco for Bernardo Silva

Spanish media outlet Superdeporte is reporting that Valencia are readying January bid for Benfica midfielder Bernardo Silva.

The La Liga high-flyers have already signed Rodrigo Moreno and Andre Gomes this summer and they aim to continue shopping at Estadio da Luz.

While Enzo Perez remains one of the first players on their radar, los Che are now weighing up a move for Bernardo Silva as well.

New Valencia patron Peter Lim has an excellent relationship with the player’s agent Jorge Mendes, which is enough to suggest the La Liga side are in pole position at the moment.

Bernardo Silva, 20, was loaned to Monaco back in August after making just one league appearance for the Eagles, but he has since impressed at Stade Louis II.

And while the Principality club have expressed their desire to sign the attacking midfielder on permanent basis, they could eventually miss out with Valencia having the upper hand.
