Valencia challenge Watford for Barcelona graduate

La Liga strugglers Valencia have entered the race to sign Deportivo Alaves full-back Kiko Femenia, according to Radio Valencia.

The 26-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season, and he appears to be looking for a new challenge.

Reports that Femenia had signed a pre-contract agreement with Watford have been denied as Valencia have now joined the chase.

Los Che are expected to stay without starting right-back Joao Cancelo at the end of the current campaign and they seem to see the former Barcelona youngster as a decent replacement.

Femenia played for the reserve sides of both Barcelona and Real Madrid after a spell with Hercules, before getting his career back on track at Deportivo Alaves.

After scoring 5 goals in his debut season to help his new club gain promotion to La Liga, Femenia went on to make 20 appearances in the top flight.
