Portuguese daily Record is reporting that Valencia are on the verge of signing Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori.
Valencia have been watching the talented centre-back over the last couple of months and he seems to have done enough to persuade the La Liga side to step up their interest.
Record reports that los Che see Ilori as a player with a great potential and they are keen to add him to their ranks in the summer transfer window.
Sporting officials will attempt to keep hold of one of their hottest prospects, but their difficult financial situation means that they would not be able to resist a lucrative offer from Spain.
Tiago Ilori has exploded onto the biggest stage this season, starting no less than 11 Primeira Liga matches and scoring one goal in the process.
He has also made 20 appearances for the reserve side and now looks set for a big club move.
