La Liga side Valencia have confirmed reports suggesting they have the option to turn Geoffrey Kondogbia’s loan deal into permanent move.
The French footballer joined the club on a season-long loan with a reported option to buy for €30 million that also includes a 30% sell-on fee.
Valencia officials have now confirmed that such a clause does exist, revealing they already have an agreement with the player.
“We have a right to buy at the end of the season and already have an agreement with Kondogbia should we exercise the option,” Valencia director general Mateo Alemany said in a press conference.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a bright start to his career at Mestalla, getting on the scoresheet in the 2-2 draw with Real Madrid, but he was then sent off in weekend’s triumph over Real Sociedad.
Nevertheless, los Che officials appear to be happy with his performances and may decide to purchase his contract at the end of the season.
