Valencia are weighing up a summer move for PSV Eindhoven defender Santiago Arias, according to Super Deporte.
Given that right-backs Antonio Barragan and Joao Pereira both have contracts until June 2015, at least one of them is expected to leave Mestalla in the summer.
As a result, los Che have started the search for a new right-sided defender and they appear to have made PSV’s Santiago Arias one of their primary targets.
Joan Salvans, the right-hand man of Valencia general manager Francisco Rufete, was in attendance at Cornella El Prat as the youngster represented Colombia in a friendly against Tunisia.
This is enough to suggest los Che are seriously considering a summer bid for the player’s services, although they could face competition from other top clubs that are reportedly keen.
Santiago Arias, 22, has made 19 league appearances for PSV Eindhoven since joining from Sporting Lisbon, scoring one goal in the process.
