Spanish newspaper El Mediterraneo de Castellon claims Villarreal have rejected a €9 million offer for star midfielder Bruno Soriano.
The 28-year-old is one of the most sought after players in Spain and is widely expected to leave El Madrigal after his club were relegated to Segunda.
However, Villarreal are determined not to sell him on the cheap and they request no less than €12 million for the experienced midfielder.
This is the reason why the club rejected a €9 million offer for the player from Valencia, in spite of the somewhat difficult financial situation.
Los Che desperately need to sign a new central midfielder after Mehmet Topal moved to Fenerbahce and they have gone the extra mile to make what they believed was a fair offer for Bruno Soriano.
Their bid was turned down by Villarreal and being unable to match Villarreal’s valuation of the player, Valencia will have to switch their attention to other targets.
