Spanish daily newspaper Superdeporte has learned that Valencia are hot on the trail of Real Madrid icon Iker Casillas.
Los Che are in the market for a quality shot-stopper as highly rated Diego Alves suffered a serious knee injury that will see him miss around six months of action.
Valencia have since been linked with quite a few goalkeepers, but the latest reports suggest they could make a move on Iker Casillas.
The Spain international is set to have clear the air talks with new coach Rafael Benitez as he wants to learn what his status will be after the expected arrival of David De Gea.
And with the current Manchester United hotshot likely to secure the number one spot at Santiago Bernabeu, there is a good chance Casillas would request to leave the club.
A move to Valencia could appeal to the veteran keeper, especially seeing that los Che will be playing Champions League football next season.
