Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola has learned that Valencia have emerged as the number one candidates to sign Peruvian winger Andre Carrillo from Sporting Lisbon.
Los Che are determined to reinforce the squad following the slow start to the new season and they have made the Peru hotshot one of their primary targets.
But, rather than signing the player in the January window, the La Liga outfit hope to lure him to Mestalla next summer, when his contract with the Lions comes to an end.
Andre Carrillo will be out of contract at the end of the season, but both the player and the club would prefer a winter exit.
Namely, the 24-year-old was dropped from the first team after refusing to sign a new contract and a January exit appears on the cards.
In spite of the lack of playing time at club level, Carrillo started the opening 2018 World Cup qualifiers for Peru and should keep his places for upcoming games against Paraguay and Brazil.
