Spanish giants Valencia have emerged as favourites to recruit Marseille midfielder Gianelli Imbula, according to Plaza Deportiva.
The highly rated footballer has caught the eye of quite a few top sides with some impressive performances this season and OM may decide to cash in on his services if they fail to secure Champions League qualification.
Plaza Deportivo has learned that Imbula’s father Willy Ndangi has travelled to Spain in order to meet with several interested clubs.
The same source has suggested that he also had a meeting with Valencia sporting director Francisco Rufete, who presented him a lucrative four-year contract for Imbula.
This is enough to suggest that los Che are in pole position to sign the 22-year-old footballer, who started 36 league fixtures this term, scoring 2 goals.
Marseille will only qualify for the Champions League if they beat Bastia and Monaco do not win against Lorient, with OM 2/9 to fulfill their part of the bargain.
