Valencia in talks for Kevin Gameiro

Spanish daily newspaper AS has learned that Valencia are closing in on Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro.

The Frenchman is looking to leave los Colchoneros in search of first team football, and he has now been offered a chance to move to Mestalla.

Valencia need experienced goalscorers as they prepare for a Champions League campaign and they see Gameiro as a good fit.

The two sides are set to begin talks over the player’s personal terms, although it is clear he will have to accept a major pay cut if the transfer is to go through.

However, given that Gameiro has another two years left on his current contract, Valencia will also need to find an understanding with his current employers.
