Spanish giants Valencia are stepping up their efforts to sign goalkeeper Victor Valdes from Manchester United, according to Sport.
Los Che are in the market for a new shot-stopper given that Diego Alves will miss the first part of the season through injury.
Valencia officials have met with the player’s agents after Valdes had been left out of Manchester United’s pre-season squad.
And with Louis van Gaal making it clear that the Spaniard would be sold for refusing to play for the reserves, an agreement could be reached in the coming days.
Victor Valdes joined Manchester United on a free transfer after recovering from a difficult injury, but he went on to make just two Premier League appearances.
The 33-year-old will be moving clubs again this summer, and it would appear as though a move back to Spanish La Liga is on the cards. Valdes has another year left on his current deal.
