Valencia are interested in signing PSV Eindhoven full-back Santiago Arias, according to the player’s Spanish representative.
The Colombian has caught the eye of top European clubs with his performances this season, and he is widely tipped to leave Philips Stadium after the 2014 World Cup.
And the defender’s Spanish agent Javier Piquer has moved to confirm reports linking his client with a summer move to Mestalla.
“I can confirm the interest of Valencia, which is already in the public domain, as well as other teams, including those from La Liga,” Piquer confessed to Super Deporte.
Los Che are on the lookout for a new right-back since both Antonio Barragan and Joao Pereira will soon enter the final year of their respective contracts.
Valencia officials believe Santiago Arias would be a good long-term replacement for one of the two players and they look set to make their interest concrete in the coming weeks.
The Colombia international has made a total of 24 Eredivisie appearances for PSV Eindhoven since joining from Sporting Lisbon, scoring one goal and producing two assists.
