According to a recent report from Marca, Valencia are planning on making a move for former Aston Villa goalkeeper Pepe Reina – if Jasper Cillessen leaves the club later this month.
The La Liga regulars had a poor season in the league, finishing in 9th place. They’re clearly eager to change things up over the course of the summer transfer window, but some wonder whether or not they have the kind of influence in the transfer market that they did once upon a time.
Reina has now returned to AC Milan after his loan spell with Aston Villa, but the Premier League club could also be interested in trying to bring him back. The veteran has had a rollercoaster ride of a few years in terms of his overall form, but during the last few months, he’s really been able to set himself up as a man who can be relied on.
