Valencia are the latest club to have joined the race for Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas, AS has revealed.
Los Che have already informed the Galician club that they intend to match the player’s €10 million release clause, but that does not necessarily mean they will sign the highly rated forward.
Chelsea have expressed their desire to do the same, so it will ultimately be up to Aspas to decide what his next destination will be.
Both Valencia and Chelsea hope to sign the player in the summer transfer window, but they could decide to act in January if one of other interested sides submit an official proposal.
Los Che see Aspas as a perfect replacement for star striker Roberto Soldado, who is widely tipped to leave Mestalla at the end of the season.
Aspas, 25, has made 19 La Liga appearances for Celta Vigo this season, and scored 8 goals in the process.
