Valencia are ready to launch an assault on Lille defender Aurelien Chedjou, reports French newspaper L’Equipe.
Los Che are somewhat short of options in the heart of defence, which led to full-back Jeremy Mathieu being deployed as a centre-back in several fixtures this season.
It is for that reason that Mestalla outfit plan to sign another quality stopper in the summer transfer window and they seem to have set their sights on Lille’s Aurelien Chedjou.
The 27-year-old has been playing at a very high level for several years now and has caught the eye of some top European clubs in the process.
Chedjou is looking for a new challenge after spending last six years with les Dogues and has made it clear that he wants out at the end of the season.
The Cameroon international has made a total of 145 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille and scored 11 goals in the process.
