La Liga high-flyers Valencia are in pole position to recruit Marseille midfielder Gianelli Imbula, La Provence has suggested.
The talented footballer has earned rave reviews for his performances this season and it is believed it will cost at least €20 million to secure his services.
Marseille are reportedly ready to sell if the price is right and Valencia are the first club ready to match their valuation.
However, los Che have been unable to agree personal terms with the 22-year-old midfielder, with the talks breaking down of late.
As a result, Inter Milan and Tottenham look ready to try and hijack Valencia’s bid for Imbula, as they, too, have been impressed with the player’s performances this season.
After initially struggling to prove his worth at Stade Velodrome, Imbula developed into a key player under Marcelo Bielsa, starting 37 Ligue 1 fixtures last term and scoring two goals in the process.
