Valencia signed Goncalo Guedes on loan from Paris Saint-Germain last summer on Spanish transfer window deadline day, September 1, 2017. The 21-year-old winger has made 19 appearances for the club so far and scored five goals.
Sitting in fourth place and being 13 points clear of their nearest followers Real Betis, Valencia are set to return to the Champions League next season. Therefore, they will need to keep their squad from this season as close to intact as possible, and even to add to their numbers to be able to effectively compete across all fronts.
To that end, Spanish football expert journalist Guillem Balague claims they are looking to make the signing of Guedes permanent. They believe a sum between 35 and 40 million euros should be enough to make the deal happen, but the French club are taking their time with the decision.
Apart from Guedes, Valencia would also like to keep Geoffrey Kondogbia. The defensive midfielder is currently at the Mestalla on loan from Inter Milan.
