Valencia are stepping up their efforts to sign Argentine midfielder Enzo Perez from Benfica, reports Superdeporte.
Los Che have reportedly submitted a €25 million proposal for the player’s services and they are desperate to finalise the deal ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
Namely, a number of Premier League sides are keen on the 28-year-old footballer, but they have yet to make concrete moves since the player would have problems receiving a work permit.
Nevertheless, if Perez is named in Argentina’s final World Cup squad, work permit would no longer be an issue, and that is exactly why Valencia hope to wrap up the deal before the tournament finals.
It is believed that Manchester United are considering a summer bid for the midfielder’s services, but los Che do seem to lead the chase at the moment.
Everything suggests Enzo Perez will be taking part at the 2014 World Cup, where Argentina are 2/5 to win their opening game against Bosnia.
