Valencia boss Mauricio Pellegrino has told the club chiefs that he wants to reinforce the squad in January, AS has revealed.
The talented coach met yesterday with club president Manuel Llorente and sporting director Braulio Vazquez to discuss his own future and that of the club.
Valencia president voiced his concern with the team’s slow start to the season that has seen los Che pick up just 8 points from 7 La Liga games, but also informed Pellegrino that his position at the club was not in danger.
The boss, on the other hand, asked the club chiefs to further reinforce the squad in January transfer window, with right-sided midfielder and central defender the problematic positions.
Los Che, however, cannot go crazy with new signings in January given that they can only register three new players for La Liga, and just one for the Champions League.
With Sergio Canales likely to be registered for Europe’s elite competition when he recovers from injury, it is believed that third keeper Felipe Ramos will have to make way for another outfield player.
