La Liga outfit Valencia are reportedly keeping close tabs on Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo, according to Sport.
Los Che have Paco Alcacer and Rodrigo Moreno vying for places up front, but new coach Nuno Espirito Santo also wants to sign an out-and-out centre forward.
With Jackson Martinez and Fernando Llorente proving unrealistic targets, Valencia officials have turned their attention to Manchester City’s Alvaro Negredo.
The Spaniard is currently recovering from a fifth metatarsal injury and won’t be back in action until October, and los Che plan to take advantage of the situation by offering the Citizens a tempting proposal.
Negredo is no longer a first team regular at the Etihad and with Stevan Jovetic producing some excellent displays after recovering from injury, there is a chance Manuel Pellegrini will allow the 29-year-old to leave this summer.
The Spain international hasn’t quite managed to justify the €25 million transfer fee, having scored just 9 goals in 32 Premier League appearances.
