Valencia step up chase for Goncalo Guedes

Spanish La Liga strugglers Valencia are readying January bid for Benfica starlet Goncalo Guedes, according to Superdeporte.

Los Che have just appointed Cesare Prandelli as their new head coach and the Italian plans to seriously reinforce the squad in the winter transfer window.

Superdeporte claims that Benfica youngster Goncalo Guedes is one of the first names on Valencia’s hit list.

Namely, los Che officials have watched the attacking midfielder in action in weekend’s triumph over Feirense and the Champions League clash against Besiktas, which is enough to suggest they could soon step up their interest in his services.

Following the promising start to his career at Estadio da Luz, Goncalo Guedes has also been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United, but chances are that Valencia will be the first club to make their interest concrete.

The 19-year-old has so far scored just one goal this season, but he, nonetheless, remains a regular starter at Estadio da Luz.
